Adewura Giant Farmers International Community Initiative (AGFICI) is a nonprofit organization established to advance sustainable agriculture, community development, and economic empowerment for underserved populations, particularly women, youth, and rural families. While AGFICI is a global initiative, its core operations and community impact programs are currently focused in Nigeria and other rural communities around the world, where agriculture remains a primary source of livelihood yet continues to face systemic barriers to productivity, food security, and economic mobility.
Across many regions of Nigeria and similar rural communities globally, families depend on subsistence or small-scale farming. However, persistent challenges, including limited access to agricultural funding, inadequate infrastructure, poor soil health, scarcity of modern farming tools, fragmented supply chains, and lack of technical training, prevent these communities from thriving. Women, who contribute significantly to the agricultural workforce, disproportionately lack access to land, income-generating opportunities, and training that could strengthen their households and overall community well-being. Students and young adults also often grow up without exposure to viable agricultural career pathways or education in sustainable farming methods.
AGFICI was established to bridge these gaps through a community-centered, environmentally responsible, and economically inclusive approach. The Initiative focuses on the production of organic crops and eco-friendly agricultural products such as corn, banana fibers, palm trees, cashew, teak, gmelina, African walnuts, bamboo, and cane. These crops are cultivated not only for food production but also for their diverse industrial, nutritional, and environmental applications, supporting sustainable livelihoods and long-term community resilience.
